On November 4, the WURI biometric identification project will carry out the second full-scale “Proof of Concept” (POC) test of its registration platform.
The aim is to register at least 2,000 people in Greater Lomé, as well as in the Maritime, Central and Plateaux regions.
Field operations will cover the prefectures of Golfe and Agoè-Nyivé in Greater Lomé, as well as the chief towns of the Lacs, Vo, Yoto and Zio prefectures in the Maritime region, Ogou in the Plateaux region and Tchaoudjo in the Centrale region.
This POC of the Togo e-ID technological platform aims to validate the ability of registration agents to deploy and configure the tools, check the conformity of the QR codes, and test the autonomy of the registration kits and their integration into the MOSIP system (the identification platform), reports the Togolese press.
The WURI project, supported by the World Bank to the tune of 72 million dollars over a period of 5 years, aims ultimately to issue each resident with a unique identification number to facilitate his or her interactions with the administration and the various public and private entrances.
